School district seeks input on budget
Email Print
The Le Sueur-Henderson School board is holding a special school board meeting on Monday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle/High School media center to hear public input on recommendations to reduce the school’s budget for the 2010-11 school year.

Like last year, the board is looking at some innovative options in order to keep staff in programs in tact while saving money at the same time. Some of these options include not filling positions being vacated due to retirements, reduction of the superintendent’s salary and workdays and explore switching to a four-day school week.

At the meeting comments from the public will be heard by the board.

‘Hilltop Tomorrow’

The first of three “Hilltop Tomorrow” meetings will be held Thursday, March 11 from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Henderson Community Building.

These planning sessions have an impact on the future of Hilltop Elementary School.

On the agenda for the first meeting is to discuss the need, give a historical perspective and describe options and feasibility criteria for the school. On Thursday, March 18, the pros and cons of the ideas presented will be discussed. Finally, on March 25, the options will be ranked.

All parents and guardians of students attending Hilltop Elementary are encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to Kim Dirks by March 11 at 665-5900.
