Park Elementary kids celebrate fall harvest
Park Elementary School was buzzing with activity on Oct. 30 during its fall harvest celebration. Students stuffed scarecrows, shelled corn and competed in pumpkin races throughout the day.

Here, each class took a turn making apple juice from a press with the help of Craig Pavlo (far right).

They also took field trips to United Farmers Cooperative, went on hay rides and were entertained by musicians and square dancers.

Laurie Webster, from the University of Minnesota Raptor Center, was also at the celebration and brought along some friends to entertain and inform. Along with a bald eagle, Laurie showed students a broad wing hawk, Peregrine falcon and great horned owl. She said the Raptor Center treats about 800 birds a year for various injuries and health issues.

The author of this article may want to do a little fact checking/editing before posting the story. Aside from the name of the woman from The Raptor Center being incorrect the third raptor species mentioned is a Peregrine falcon not a paragon falcon. :)
