Geraldine F. Rasmusen, age 68 of Le Sueur died after a brief illness at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009.
She was born on July 3, 1941 in Starbuck, Minn. to Ednard & Geneva (Berg) Barsness. She attended Starbuck Schools and graduated from Starbuck High School in 1959. She worked for an insurance company in Minneapolis from 1959 to 1963. She married Edward L. Rasmusen on Oct. 19, 1963 in Starbuck. She has worked at St. Anne’s School in Le Sueur as the Secretary since 1973 to present.
She is survived by her husband Edward; son, Jason (Sarah) Rasmusen of Madison, Wis.; and granddaughter; Caroline. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Geri enjoyed cooking, bicycling, traveling and reading.
Memorial services will be on Friday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur with the Rev. Carl Bruihler officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 4-7 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at a later time in Starbuck, Minn.
