Economy causes difficult decisions
Email Print
Everyone should be well aware that the country is in a major recession and financial turmoil. Sometimes in life, people are forced to make very tough decisions. Self-employed people, like myself, do not have the “advantage” of unemployment and the like when work gets slow. When we don’t have work, we don’t get a paycheck. However, the bills keep coming and the debt grows.

My wife, Jenny, and I were forced to make a major, life-changing decision. The only way we were able to keep our heads above water and try to relieve some debt, was to offer our dream house, built on 10 acres of my parents’ property with my own hard labor, for sale. It was a very tough, life-changing decision which was hard on not only our family, but also my pride. It is very disheartening and hard to swallow when word starts around our small community that we “lost” the house.

This letter is to all those people in our quaint little town who like to gossip and can’t keep their noses out of other people’s business. WE DID NOT LOSE THE HOUSE – WE SOLD IT! Maybe next time you should get the facts straight before you start making rumors!

Thanks for listening.

Larry our economy would be in much better shape if more people made the difficult (and smart) financial decisions that you have. Take heart in the fact that the pathetic people who are gossiping about you this week will find something else to occupy their petty minds next week. Tough times don't last but tough people do. Best wishes in the future.
